Governor Butcher of Colorado calls a Denver convention on June 18 to 20 with western governors lawmakers and county officials to thresh out open range questions. The goal is to set a unified stance on leasing restrictions and influence congressional action.
The Interior Department releases nearly one million acres from temporary withdrawal in Washington Oregon California and Wyoming at Forest Service request. Areas adjacent to San Jacinto Mt Rainier Cascade Heppner and Medicine Bow are opened for settlement late July and August. The 1906 homestead act encourages settlers while forestry value guides further boundary readjustments.
