Big Timber high school track coach Jim Graham and Bob Hauck led over 40 athletes through a season that saw the Sheepherders win every meet and qualify 17 boys for the divisional finals. The team earned depth points across events, placing high in sprints, throws, and relays, and sent eight runners and field performers to Missoula for the state meet.

It Could Have Been Much Worse High School Car Crash
A one car accident 13 miles south of Big Timber on the Boulder road involved Brent Moschelle, 17, and four passengers peak of potential injury. The car slid off the road and bounced across the highway with no serious injuries reported. Police cited excessive speed as a factor and the investigation continued.

Trucker Receives Minor Injuries In Overturned Truck

Collision at Fourth Avenue West and Hart Street
Bernie Stuber and Rev. Kenneth McCallum of Billings were in a Friday afternoon crash at the Fourth Avenue West Hart Street intersection. About 60 hobbyists from Billings Bozeman Livingston Helena Three Forks Clyde Park and Big Timber gathered at the Ellis KOA Campground for a potluck picnic to showcase antique cars led by a 1928 Marmon a 1927 Nash a Locomobile once owned by Tom Mix and a 1915 oldest model A s and T s. Nelle Stubblefield Dies in Seattle After Long Residency
Obituary note reports Miss Nelle Stubblefield died May 11 in Seattle. A member of a pioneer Big Timber family, she left behind a sister, Mrs. Ethel S. Noyes of Seattle. The Stubblefield property near the river at the old Boulder bridge is now owned by George Lavold.
