The Livestock Telephone company voted to have Big Timber Home Telephone install and maintain a thirty line dial exchange in Melville with an annual subscriber charge of 3.50. The line will serve 47 current subscribers and future growth, with a Melville branch line to route calls through the Big Timber exchange.

Poppy Poster Contest Winners Named
The memorial poppy will appear for the 33rd year with a window display at the Big Timber department store from tomorrow through Saturday. Winners in the local poster contest will be announced next Wednesday at the public school, with awards by Mrs. Ralph Prather. Rural and public school winners are named, posters will go to department headquarters for judging and a July display in Billings. Memorial Day ceremonies include a 10 am parade from the courthouse, ceremonies at the cemetery, and a water-flowers ritual on the Yellowstone river bridge.

Snow logged at higher elevations around Big Timber, with temperatures ranging from 70 highs to 35 lows.
