Bozeman Joseph F Marley 81 who clerked at Chambers Fisher for years died Wednesday at Broadwater hospital Townsend. Born Sept 28 1883 in Big Timber he moved to Bozeman 1905 retired 1952 then returned to Big Timber clerking at Cont hotel until 1960. Survived by sister Mrs Mary E Gray and brothers Thomas Theo Marley all Bozeman. Rosary at Holy Rosary church recited Friday Requiem mass Saturday Burial Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Forty faculty members and friends gathered at Dallman Hall for a retirement dinner honoring Ellen Ware who taught at Big Timber elementary since 1954. A. C. McDonald led the event while gifts, a scrap book memoir, and a lifetime Montana Education Association membership were presented. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Tom Buckley and Mrs. Kenneth Flare.

Dr Alterowitz earned a 1939 B S S from the College of the City of New York, a 1947 M A from Teachers College at Columbia, and a 1952 Ed D from Columbia. He led recreation for Federation Settlement NY, tutored at City College NY, directed camp athletics at Camp Airy MD, and headed recreation at the Children’s Center NY. He has taught at Eastern faculty since 1948 and served in the U S Army 1942–46 reaching captain, with post athletic and recreation duties at Fort Bliss TX for two and a half years.

Rapstad Wins Rural Track Meet In Dominant Style
Rapstad topped McLeod by a wide margin at the rural track meet last Friday with 7014 points. Dry Creek took second with 5814, while McLeod earned third with 57 points. Knob Hill, Melville, Grey Cliff, Bridge, Basin, and Lower Dry Fork followed in lower placements as Dry Creek becomes the Class B champion, replacing Duck Creek. Louise Hausserman Keppler 88 died after a series of strokes at her nephew Henry Hausserman’s Bridger Creek home. Born in 1875 in Steinhausen Germany, she immigrated at 16, married Charles A. Keppler in 1899, and lived in Grey Cliff and nearby towns where he ran a cigar business. She raised her nephew Dean and cared for other children before moving to Bridger Creek. Survivors include nieces and nephews across several states. services were held at Lowry Chapel with Rev. Grady Chaney officiating and interment at Mountain View.

Clark Announces Closeout Of Plumbing And Heating Business
Clark closes out his plumbing and heating operation in Big Timber after starting as a transfer and trucking business in 1945. Walt Dutton will take over the shop and Rue's Radio TV will carry the Dutch Boy paint line formerly held by Clark. Mac expanded to plumbing and heating in the late 1940s and established the local TV cable system in 1954.
Canadian Is Killed Near Reed Point
Edward Walter Wydra a 37 year old salesman from Winnipeg Canada was killed when his car left the road at Hump creek on Interstate 214 miles west of Reed Point. He was thrown from the vehicle and the skull crushed as the car rolled over him. The body was taken to Winnipeg by Dean Lowry Friday night.

Recreation Workshop Led by Bailey Aims for Youth Leaders
