Oskar Kristiansen Drivdahl born December 29 1875 in Norway died at Community hospital last Thursday at 4 pm after heart illness. Funeral at Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev. Hood officiating. pallbearers listed. Burial at Mountain View. He homesteaded east of Melville and lived in Big Timber since 1952. survived by four children, 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Margaret Lavold from Settlement won in the fifth and sixth grades, Christie Davis of Wild Rose was second, with Carol Van Cleve and Susan Anderson from Settlement following. Frank Bergholm died this afternoon shortly before The Pioneer went to press. He had been a patient at Community Hospital since Tuesday with a heart condition. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.

Kinsey Dies in California After Family Funeral
L R Kinsey, long time Big Timber carpenter, dies in Monterey California. He was born 11 March 1889 at Miles City and married Odelia Rhinehart in 1916. Survivors include six daughters and four sons with numerous grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Monterey with interment there.

Effects of Forest Spray on Fish Discussed at Meet
A. A. O'Claire of the Montana Fish and Game department reported preliminary results on DDT use in forest spraying. He said up to one pound per acre in oil base spray, with precautions, will rarely cause serious trout losses. The meeting in Butte included officials from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and federal agencies to review cooperative studies begun in 1955 and continued to seek any lasting effects.
