Graduation ceremonies mark SGHS class of 1976
Fifty two Sweet Grass High School seniors will be honored in graduation activities next week. Baccalaureate Sunday at 8 p.m. in the school gym features Rev. Eugene W. Nilsen and Rev. Richard Kienitz. Commencement Tuesday at 8 p.m. includes student leaders and a self-directed program with invocations, benedictions, and diplomas to be presented by Helen Pedula. The event showcases seniors, music, and traditional and new elements, with the class motto Not the sunset but the dawn.

Sweet Grass County eighth graders will receive diplomas at a May 19 commencement in the high school gym. The program includes Ken Willson on the processional, Rev. Gary Warne giving invocations, and James Graham delivering the address. Edith Harper will present diplomas with George Cremer conferring. Class members include Robert Blackwell, Scott Breeding, Cathy Brownlee, Leo Cremer, Jim Hansen, Kevin Hartung, Mary Myer and Janet Myrstol. Class officers are Cathy Brownlee president, Leo Cremer vice president, Robert Blackwell secretary-treasurer. Colors blue and white. motto Star Spangled Years.

Bids Open Thursday for Overland Golf Course Work
Sweet Grass County Commissioners will open bids at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Courthouse for preliminary work on the Overland Golf Course. Four firms have taken out plans and specifications, including Tom Rae Excavating and David Jarrett, with bidders from Billings and Bozeman. Construction superintendent Ron Taylor and golf course board member Kenneth Olson noted Taylor’s staking work on greens and fairways this week. If a contract is awarded, work could start within weeks.
