Milwaukee Extension Rumored To Reach Big Timber

Rumors claim a Milwaukee extension from Harlowton to Big Timber is moving toward construction this year. Milwau kee officials seek a southern terminal and land options north of town as two surveying crews work to map a feasible route. The project promises to boost Melville and Big Timber economies and link the region to Cooke City.

New Montana Railroad Planned as Harriman Property

Articles of incorporation filed in Montana reveal a new line named Montana Idaho & Pacific. The route starts at Lapwai Junction linking with Oregon Railroad & Navigation lines, crosses via Lolo Pass into Montana and proceeds through Missoula Granite Powell and Deer Lodge counties to Butte. The company authorized capital stock is 16 million dollars with 1800 dollars filing fee paid by J I Wines of Butte as state agent.

Boise and Portland men form new 350 mile venture

Incorporators named are J. H. Richards of Boise C. E. Chrisman of Boise and James G. Wilson of Portland for a 350 mile project.

May 26 to 31 brings plays concerts in Big Timber

The schedule includes Uncle Rube the high school play on May 26 and Black Patti a musical comedy with 40 performers on May 27. May 28 features high school commencement and arrangements aim to secure the Innes Band for a Sunday concert. The Famous Palmatier Sisters perform May 31 through June 1. The band travels toward Seattle for the exposition. If secured it will be a musical treat for Big Timber.

Water Rates to Town Treasurer Ordered by Council

The May 3 1909 town council resolution requires water rates be paid to the town treasurer by January April July and October 10th. delinquents will have water disconnected by the town marshal. quarterly reports of delinquents and receipts are to be filed. First publication May 12 and May 16.

Methodist and Congregational Churches Schedule and Welcome

The Methodist Episcopal Church led by Pastor J A Meeke lists Sunday School at 10 am, morning worship 11 am, Epworth League at 7 pm, and evening service at 7 45 pm. The First Congregational Church under Rev Dr H H Thoren holds morning worship 11 am, Y P S C E at 7 15 pm, and evening service at 8 pm. A hearty welcome is extended to all to attend these meetings. The pastor outlines services for several weeks ahead.

Reverend C. W. MacWilliams outlines next Sunday's schedule with Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. Morning Prayer and Litany at 11:40 a.m. and Evening Prayer at 8:00 p.m. Future evening services set for 8:00 p.m. Ascension Day Thursday features a 4:00 p.m. service at the church.
