Two masked men ambushed the North Coast Limited No 2 trains at Welch spur near Butte at 4 am. Engineer Frank Clow was killed and Wireman Sullivan wounded. Robbers fled, a posse with bloodhounds pursued, several suspects arrested but released. This marks the fourth overland NP hold-up in four years.

Sweet Grass High School Board Reorganizes at Annual Meeting
At the Sweet Grass county high school board annual meeting last Friday, H. P. Franklin was re elected chairman and J. B. Solberg secretary. The current teaching staff led by Principal W. C. Ryan with Edna Maynard and Elsie Lowry were rehired with higher salaries. James A. Mulkern was rehired as janitor. A 1 mill tax was levied to cover expenses, one mill less than last year.
