Donald J Hanly a Big Timber native died April 21 in a Longview Washington hospital after a week long illness. He was born in 1904 and played on a high school basketball team that finished second in the state in 1922. He later owned a service station and tire shop in Longview. Survivors include his widow a son and daughter three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services and interment were in Longview.

Montana to Issue Veterans Bonus Bonds Sold at $21 Million
The Montana state examiners board accepted bids from Smith, Barney & Co. and Blythe & Co. to buy 21,701,649 in bonds to fund a wartime veterans bonus. Interest averages 2.9193, with payments to eligible 67,000 veterans starting next month after paperwork. Benefits include 10 monthly dollars for stateside service and 5 more for overseas service plus payments to veterans from 1941 to 1945 and to dependents of deceased veterans.

Mine Production Delayed as Plans Move to Rehab Near Dean
Arrangements to restart the Mount chrome mines in Stillwater county near Dean will stay in planning for months. American Chrome Company officials say production is at least a year away after an on site inspection led by E A Julian. Four engineers are working on preliminary planning with later contracts for housing and mine mill structure rehab. No miners or mill workers will be hired until soon before production. A 350 worker force had been announced previously.

Fischers Honored On Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fischer were honored at a belated silver wedding party Saturday night at Spring ale. A large gathering enjoyed dancing and supper. The couple received gifts and a silver purse. Out of town guests included relatives from Belgrade Helena Livingston and Anaconda. The Fischers married twenty six years ago on May 3 and have lived in Big Timber. Mrs. Fischer has two sons from a former marriage and a son Tim bers who lives with his family.
