Boulder Has Much Water From Snow Course Readings
Surveyors H. L. Smith F. L. Biglen and Ranger Joe Helle along with Gene Spilde last Friday and Saturday measured upper Boulder snow at Monument Peak and Independence. Results show higher water content than prior years, with Monument Peak at 29.55 inches and Independence at 18.8 inches. The readings suggest a favorable outlook for next year’s irrigation from Boulder drainage.

Fire destroys Moschelle garage at West Fifth

Students gear up for state festival at Eastern college
Music students prepare for the State Music Festival in Billings at Eastern college. Twenty four band and fourteen choral students will participate and be judged Friday and Saturday. four band groups and two solos plus ensembles, with chorus entries limited to superior district ratings. All State performers rehearse Friday and Saturday and appear in a final concert Saturday evening. Admission is free for judging. Saturday night concert at the Eastern college field house requires payment.

Keith Williams executive secretary of the Montana Taxpayers Association spoke at the Sweet Grass County Farm Bureau meeting. He said the group is funded by subscriptions and reviews county budgets to flag errors for commissioners. Golden Wedding Anniversary Observed for Harold Branne
Mr and Mrs Harold Branne marked their fiftieth anniversary with a May 3 reception at the Lutheran parish hall. They married May 5 1914 in Big Timber. The event included a four tiered wedding cake and a tea table, with family members serving and relatives providing music and decor. They homesteaded on Deer creek, farmed Lower Deer creek, lived on Hathaway ranch, then moved to Big Timber in 1949. They have two children seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Out of town guests included families from Three Forks Great Falls Bozeman Dillon Billings.
