Funeral for Jess Blakely in Park City
Funeral services for Jess Jeff Blakely 53 of Park City will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith chapel with Rev Frederick Ross of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mountview Cemetery. He died Sunday night after a weeklong illness from a stomach ailment. He was born December 24, 1896 in Livingston, married Mattie Buening in Rapelje in 1940, and had lived in Livingston Reed Point and Park City. He was employed at a ranch near Park City. He is survived by his widow, his mother Mary Matilda Blakely of Cody, Wyoming, a sister Mrs. Chester Martin of Cody and a brother Charles Blakely of McLeod.

High School Band Sponsors Musical Fund Drive
The high school band will hold a musical program on Wednesday April 6 at 8 p m to raise funds for instruments and trips. The Ritz Trumpeteers will perform and tickets cost 35 cents. Big Timber Scout Troop 21 captured first place at the Absaroka district swimming meet held at Hunters Hot Springs on Sunday. Scoutmaster Palmer Finsvik led the team with Don Nelson of Livingston supervising. Big Timber totaled 41 points to edge Troop 30 of Livingston with 22 and Troop 24 of Livingston with 21. Gary Wilson led Troop 30 with 22 points, while Dick McDonald scored 18 for Big Timber and Richard Hults 12 for Big Timber with two firsts and two thirds.
