Feed Grain Signup Ends March 27 in Sweet Grass County
Farmers in Sweet Grass County show strong interest in the 1964 Feed Grain program. Cecil J. Carl notes many have signed to participate, diverting 1,962.3 acres of barley for diversion payments up to 20,021.70 dollars plus 12 cent per bushel price support and potential loans on remaining base acreage. Applications must be filed by Friday March 27 with the ASCS office.

Three Harlowton youths injured in late Sunday crash
Three Harlowton young men were hospitalized after their car left highway 19 near the Sweet Grass bridge at about 6 15 p m Sunday. Gary Knudson suffered a fractured pelvis and other injuries and was taken to a Billings hospital. Johnny Hagberg and Glenn Chamberlin remained hospitalized in Harlowton. Jerry Fisk and Dale Bennett escaped injury. The car did not overturn but struck two trees and wedged between them before demolishing the vehicle.

Chief Justice Harri son to speak on education at public lodge meeting
James T. Harrison will address education topics at a Masonic lodge gathering Tuesday evening March 31 at 8 pm in the Masonic hall. The Montana Supreme Court justice, native of Hankinson North Dakota and St Paul College of Law graduate, began as Glasgow court reporter in 1929, moved to Malta in 1938 to practice law, joined the supreme court in 1957, and will seek re election for a six year term on the non partisan judiciary ballot.

Lamb Pool Lambs Sell For 19 Cents At Boulder Market
About 9 500 whiteface lambs in the Boulder Mountain Lamb Pool sold Wednesday evening at 19 cents. Teddy Thompson says around 500 lambs brought 18 cents. The pool was consigned to an eastern buyer via Menier Sheep Co of Montgomery Ill. Delivery is for September 1 15.

A centennial float from Livingston to Billings is planned by Jaycees and mayors of Livingston Big Timber Columbus Laurel and Billings. The three day trip starts July 17 with Big Timber as first overnight stop and Columbus next. Participants will receive meals at each stop and a mayor’s traveling paddle trophy will reward the city with most participants. A May 3 meeting is scheduled in Columbus.

They reported the 20 mile Malta to border stretch is in horrible condition with no funds in the primary system for upgrades, and only secondary funds could cover costs around 70 000 per mile for regrading and oiling. Grade School Spring Instrumental Recital Set For April 3
The grade school band department hosts its annual spring instrumental recital Friday April 3 at 11 a.m. in the grade school gymnasium. A notably fine program features a new ensemble. the event is open to all with no admission charged.
Golden Wedding Anniversary Honors Halversons
Mr and Mrs Ronald Halver son celebrate their fiftieth anniversary with a Sunday reception at the Lutheran parish hall. Married March 25 1914 they lived on Deer creek before moving to town in 1961. They have four daughters Edna Lamp Lodge Grass Medford Oregon L W Hughes Lodge Grass Donna Bryan Phoenix Arizona and son Jack Halver son who ranches on Lower Deer creek. Fifteen of nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren attended. The hall featured red roses yellow chrysanthemums and the wedding cake crafted by Mrs Martin Songstad.
