Case unfolds at Glasston Lake where Casey Jones is found dead after a suspected feud with Bradford. Autopsy cites concussion from an unknown weapon. Clara Smith Hamon freed by jury after forty minutes of deliberation in Ardmore Oklahoma. The trial centered on the murder of Jake L Hamon a Republican national committeeman and oil and railroad promoter. Hamon's family and supporters expressed relief as verdict was read and she thanked jurors in court.
Pittsburg on March 19. Secretary Weeks of the war department told the Pittsburg chamber of commerce that the federal government needs about seven billion dollars in 30 months to cover running expenses and refunding operations. He urged economy, opposed new commitments, called for tariff reform, and suggested adjusting duties to match exchange rates.
Washington march 23 workers in the packing industry over 100000 accepted wage reductions of about 12 to 15 percent under an agreement with the five leading packers. The deal establishes an eight hour day and extends the wartime arbitration terms to September 15.
New Jersey Senator Edge urged tariff reductions to help U S firms compete globally. He spoke in New York before the American Association of Advertising Agencies noting the need for a budget system to restore confidence and stimulate economic movement.

Helena March 8. The Montana assembly adjourned after passing measures including a 1 per cent straight inheritance tax on all estates, a cement tax, and a treasury certificate issue of 33 million. Governor Dixon praised the session's results, citing revenue gains from inherited estates and oil pipeline measures to cover costs.
President Harding issued a formal call for an extra session of Congress to convene on April 11 to receive the executive’s communication. Helena March 19 Governor Joseph M. Din en vetoed the mileage provision in house bill 5. The measure would have paid mileage and per diem for the seventeenth legislative assembly during the extraordinary session. A majority of Republicans voted to pass the bill over the veto, sustaining the veto.
