Icy Road Impacts Cause Multiple Local Crashes
A string of icy conditions caused several accidents near Big Timber. John Mitchell of Greighton Saskatchewan slid into a ditch and flipped after avoiding Jack Feddes of East Helena. Mitchell’s car damage about 200 dollars. Larry J. Anderson of Billings lost control three miles west of Big Timber, car damaged 500 to 600 dollars, no injuries. Traffic slides reported with minor damages. Patrolman Murdoch investigated.

Three Hurt In Auto Collision Near Big Timber
Three people were injured in a head on collision on U S 10 seven miles east of Big Timber last Thursday. Snow ice and obscured center line contributed to the crash in which both cars were destroyed. Roderick Allen Pegar 20 of Big Sandy Wanda Robertson 40 and Margy Starks both of Spokane were treated at local hospital with Robertson and Starks later moved to St Vincent s in Billings for more care.

Mrs. William E. Ross of Fort Myers Beach Florida died aboard their cabin cruiser near Gulf of Mexico waters. Private burial at sea followed a funeral led by Father Comfort. George Campbell 80 died at his home on Post Creek near St. Ignatius. Burial followed at Pleasant View Cemetery. Born in Spring City Tennessee in 1888, he moved west in 1912, homesteaded in Big Timber, and ranched on the Boulder for years. Survivors include two sons two sisters a brother and four grandchildren. A son was born March 8 to Dr. Don van der Hagen and wife at the Community Hospital.

Minor Fire Causes Contained Damage At Tyler Ranch
A Tuesday fire at the Dudley Tyler ranch on Boulder caused only minor damage after Walt Dutton and Wayne Reed, thawing pipes in the basement, discovered smoke near the first and second floor insulation. They extinguished the blaze and watched it until fire crews arrived. a short in wiring likely sparked the fire, with smoke but no water damage.
