All eight teams have submitted squad lists and are ready to compete in the sixth annual grade school basketball tournament sponsored by the Big Timber Lions club. Herries, Livingston Native, Dies at 71
John Ferguson Herries, 71, father of Dr. J D Herries of Big Timber, died Monday in Livingston after a long illness. Born in Dumfries Scotland, he moved to the United States in 1902, settled in Livingston in 1916, and retired from the Northern Pacific shops in 1946 after 30 years. Funeral service was held Wednesday in Livingston with Rev. Roukema officiating. burial at Mountain View Cemetery. He is survived by his widow Minnie Taylor Herries, a grandson David Herries, a brother William Herries of Glasgow, Scotland, and several nieces and nephews.

Foggy Head Leads to Arrest in Bilings Car Theft Case
Las Vegas New Mexico resident John B. Sanchez Jr. was jailed after being awakened by Night Policeman Hark Sundby in a hotel lobby when a stolen car reported by Billings police was found nearby. Sanchez claimed the keys might fit the car but offered no denial. Billings authorities recovered the vehicle and owner C. C. Hicks planned to press charges in Billings court.

Earl Wright Rescued From Boulder Suffering Flu
Earl Wright, stricken with flu, was transported from the upper Boulder to a hospital after a county road crew faced a heavy snow drift. Sheriff Walter Osborne, Dr. L W Baskett, road supervisor A T Ellison, and operators Henry Elgen and Chas Lamach aided the trek with a dozer and truck. They unloaded near Natural Bridge, then reached the Wright ranch by 4 30 p m. Dr Baskett and Earl Bouse drove Wright to care. he is reported to be progressing satisfactorily.

Richard M. Meyer will go on trial in district court here March 17 for the murder of Henry W. Nelson, a Livingston real estate dealer. Judge Bérg set the trial date after juror panel drew for the term. other docket items will be set later. Meyer was apprehended November 19, 1951, in Portland, Maine.

Big Timber Hosts Rail Welding Operation Again
