Mrs Soiland Dies Unexpectedly In Great Falls At 42
Mrs Garman Soiland formerly of Big Timber and Livingston resident died of a heart attack early Friday in Great Falls while visiting her husband. Born Irene Strub in 1912 at Lansing Iowa she moved to Big Timber as a child and later lived in Livingston. Surviving are husband Garman and daughter Mrs Louis Tocca of Billings along with four Strub siblings and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was in Livingston with Rev F Warren Strain officiating and burial in Mountain View Cemetery.

Services for Mrs Emma Younger
Funeral services for 88 year old Mrs Emma Younger were held Wednesday at 2 p m at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Reed Point with Rev E J Bott officiating. She died at Mountain View Nursing Home Columbus from infirmities of age. Pallbearers included Ambrose Brumfield Bill Golden Walter McBride Marion VanCampen Floyd Ferguson and Robert Cunningham. Burial was in Reed Point cemetery. Born October 9 1866 in Paulding Ohio she married Lewis N Younger October 18 1884. They moved to Montana in 1914 living at Ryegate a year then with their daughter Mrs Harry Weamer north of Reed Point and moved into Reed Point in 1927. The Youngers observed their 54th wedding anniversary October 18 1938. Mr Younger died in 1938. Mrs Younger is survived by a daughter three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Wool Pool Sold to Wilkins and Co in Sweet Grass
The Sweet Grass county wool pool sold this week to Wilkins and Co for 49 cents a fleece. Frank Costello of Billings served as buyer. The pool held about 32 070 fleeces and will be loaded for shipment immediately.

National Guard Unit Returns From Camp at Canyon Ferry
Company B 210th Engineers of Big Timber returned Sunday after a four day encampment at Camp J Hugo Aronson Helena. The unit built a road from the highway to a dock site donated to the Montana National Guard and earned 12 superior ratings in inspections. General Mitchell praised the Big Timber unit as outstanding and the men pledged to recruit more to strengthen the unit.

The Jaycees firework show at the fairgrounds Saturday night will feature boxing matches by a group of Big Timber midgets. C E Smart reported at a Lions club meeting on a Highway 10 association briefing and a Senate highway engineer’s county report. He said federal funds would cover about 90 percent with 10 percent from the state for a proposed new super highway in Montana that would bypass towns and cities and be 44 feet wide with a 24 foot oil mat. He predicted completion within ten years and noted higher state costs due to stricter standards while voicing concern for small towns’ economies. The club will hear more at the next meeting. The Lions voted 50 dollars to aid a leader for the local Boy Scout troop’s Lame Deer camp trip.

Bryans Observe 25th Anniversary
Karl and Lillian Bryan celebrated their silver wedding anniversary with a 140 guest gathering at their home Sunday afternoon.
