New Gold Camp Discovered Near Deer Creek
A large strike of free milling gold ore is reported on Deer Creek headwaters about 28 miles south of Big Timber. Discoverers include Wm S Conners Murphy Petzold and Frank Lewis with two claims named The Yellowstone and The Yellow Jacket. They plan a fifty foot tunnel, expect seventy five feet depth, and report a thirty foot wide vein traceable for three miles starting at Deer Creek toward East Boulder.

Golden Star Mining Elects Officers For New Year
At a stockholders meeting last week Golden Star Mining and Milling Company elected C W Labarre as president Louis Johnson as vice president Fred Koehler secretary Frank Beley treasurer George Hawkins superintendent C W Labarre Henry Sanderson David Penman H Bingham and W H Moffit trustees. About twenty five tons of ore are on the dump Hawkins will travel to Independence to start the mill and work will resume on the tunnel to keep the mill running. A small assessment was levied to raise funds as market demand is dull and treasury stock will not be disposed of yet.
Diamond City Quartz Mine Driven by New Montana Firm
A group led by L. Rotwitt of Helena and Louis Heitman, with other Montana investors, forms a company to operate in the quartz at the head of Mountain Gulch near Diamond City. RLV Harvey arrives to supervise, a shaft sample yields 340 per ton, and a concentrator will be built. Expect up to 100 workers before winter as Diamond returns to industry.

Livingston County Route Redrawn For Lower Dundees and Bids Opened
County commissioners revised the Livingston to Loulder route to reduce Dundee counts, hired Chas Tappan to stake the road, and called for bids from Krise’s Fence to Baker’s ranch. Bids opened and T S Donovan awarded the contract for all work including timber and 3 inch components at 1300 dollars with a 2500 dollar bond.

Road Ditches and Water Crossings Regulation Enforced
