Services for Claude Cody Bovee 71 of Reedpoint were held at Evangelical United Brethren Church with Rev. Cyril K. Richard officiating. Burial followed in Reedpoint Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clifford Booth Bud Kerr Charles Fry Donald Trees Jack Mysse and Gail Berry. Bovee died Friday in Columbus. Survivors include his widow two sons a daughter and 13 grandchildren. Cashmore Memorial Chapel of Columbus directed arrangements.

Field Day Opens City Recreation Schedule
The first of three field days on the City Recreation Program is set for Wednesday July 2. Activities include obstacle course archery basketball free throw high jump throwing and running events with swimming and diving tentatively planned for the afternoon. The little league baseball team prepares for games next week against Absarokee Columbus and Harlowton. A girls softball league formed with games 10 to noon daily. captains Michell Willems and Debbie Reed. The Big Timber Women’s Club funds equipment while Pat Chapel donated straw for the archery setup.

Holen Receives Bronze Star for Viet Cong operations
U S Air Force Technical Sergeant Herbert H Holen son of Mrs Jimmie Holen of Big Timber Montana was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service while engaged with Viet Cong forces. He served as an air arsenal technician at Bien Hoa AB Vietnam and received the medal at Cannon AFB New Mexico where he now serves in a Tactical Air Command unit. He is a Sweet Grass County High School graduate. His wife Carrie is the daughter of Mrs Ruth S Keen of Winfield A.

Livingston Rites for Henry Braughton
Funeral services were held for Henry Braughton 70 longtime Livingston resident Friday at the Lowry Chapel. The Rev. Wilbur Argast of the First Baptist Church officiated. Braughton died Tuesday after a long illness. He was born July 5, 1899 in Pittsburg Kentucky and moved to Montana in 1906. He worked for Jay McLaughlin Construction and later for Northern Pacific Railroad retiring in 1955. He married Virginia Watkins in 1920 and Irene Metcalf in 1947. He left a large family and elk lodge member with ties across several states.

Thirteen Girl Scouts See Lewis and Clark Caverns Trip
A group of thirteen Girl Scouts and leaders Mrs Don Henke and Mrs Stan Todd enjoyed an overnight sight seeing trip starting at the Lewis and Clark Caverns then to Butte Columbia Gardens and Berkley pit. They funded the trip by babysitting cleaning and yard work planning to earn again next year.
