Five clue boxes were gathered at noon Monday and Rosemary Traver drew the winning entry. Weekly prizes include $50 for correct identity and $25 for correct clue list.

Two Apprehended After Nighttime Assault Report Near Livingston
A pickup with camper was pursued after a June 16 incident in which an elderly Livingston man claimed he was assaulted tied up robbed of his wallet and vehicle. Frank Edwin Smith Jr. and Becky Ann Brady were captured by local officers and held for Livingston authorities. Montana State University awarded 1,346 degrees at its 75th commencement with several local and state graduates earning bachelor masters and doctorates including Ann Bare Judith Carl Russell Ewan Carol Van Cleve Hosely Larry Hosely Steve Richert Sharon Schwarze Darlene Woolley Sonia Hanson Robert Racicot Gregory Cunniff and John Deeney.

Ray Hedrick announces the new rule governing individual sewage disposal systems in Sweet Grass County effective November 8, 1969. Youth Horse Show Held at Fairgrounds in Sweet Grass County
The Sweet Grass County Youth Horse Show sponsored by Otter Creek 4-H drew many young riders from two age groups 14 and under and up to 18. Senior and junior winners earned belt buckles and halters, with Scott Fraser and Rob Fraser among top winners and Larry Jordan of Roy as judge. Local educators and families gathered for the event at the fairgrounds and planning continues for next year.

4 H Camp On The Boulder Last Week
Fourteen 4 H members from Wheatland Park and Sweet Grass Counties camped at E U B Camp on the Boulder with 134 4 H ers taking part in Indian culture outdoor cookery field trips crafts and skits. Jr Leaders and adult volunteers led activities and food preparation over four days.

Committee Seeks Identity of Metcalf Handled Officer
A committee based in Great Falls seeks the name of the police officer manhandled by Senator Lee Metcalf during May Day protests in Washington D C. The group plans a two week expense paid vacation for the officer and family once identified and funded, and offers a fifty dollar reward to the first person providing the officer’s identity.

Redlegs Post 3-3 Mark With Week Wins and Losses
The American Legion Redlegs run to a 3-3 season in Livingston league play. They edged the Indians 12-11 at Livingston with Mike Sell starting and Mark Argenbright relieving in the 5th. The Tigers swept Big Timber then beat the Redlegs 8-1 and 21-3 in separate games.

City Council Eyes Absarokee Annexation South of Big Timber
City officials met Monday with all members present and reviewed a petition from Leo J. Cremer Jr. Mrs Maurice Flanagan and Bill Morse of Absarokee to annex about 75 acres south of Big Timber. The panel noted the plat and took the matter under advisement.

State funds distributed for final equalization aid to Montana schools
Superintendent Dolores Colburg announced distribution of 11 807 319 in state funds for the final state equalization aid payment bringing this year total to 29 508. 19. The aid is from a general fund and earmarked revenues including one fourth of the state income tax payments one fourth of corporate license taxes and half of the state share of U S oil and gas royalties. Montana schools received the first payment in January equal to sixty percent of entitlements. The current payment covers the remaining forty percent with Sweet Grass County receiving 9 401 of a 23 502 county total. Funeral services were held for Burton S. Smith 71 a retired rancher at Mountain Cemetery. He died June 20 at Stillwater Community Hospital of a heart condition. He was born January 6 1900 in Bryant South Dakota and moved to Montana in 1915. He married Florence Harrison in 1921 and lived in Grey Cliff Reed Point and Columbus. He is survived by his widow a sister a niece and several great nieces and nephews.

A US Forest Service release warns of a June 30 power outage from 1 to 5 pm affecting East Boulder residents above Lion Head Ranch due to blasting work. 4-H Dog Club members competed in Bozeman with Arnold Breck winning on leash and Douglas Brekke taking third off leash.
