Two men sought in a Trident theft were arrested by Sheriff Osborne yesterday afternoon. Franklin T. Hill 35 Oklahoma, was found in a hospital with an injured finger after a car door incident. Warren S. Halverson 24 Tacoma was also detained. a 1947 Buick matched the suspects’ description. The stolen motor was recovered. copper had been disposed of. Crago of Michigan was not believed involved.

Parochial School To Close With Picnic
The parochial school at the Lutheran church will close the day after tomorrow with a 2 30 afternoon picnic on the church lawn. Children not at the summer school but who attend Sunday school are invited to join the group bringing a sack lunch. Pop will be furnished for the children. enrollment this week was 80. The Big Timber Junior Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a teen-age Road-e-o and Fourth of July fireworks on July 3 at 8 PM. Tentative site is the fairgrounds. JayCee President Paul True announced the plan aims to become an annual event as part of a national drive to improve teen driving knowledge and habits.

Carter to Lead Arctic Eskimo Expedition From Harvard
Mr and Mrs Wilbert K Carter travel to Point Barrow Alaska where Carter will head an Arctic expedition for Peabody Museum Harvard University to study Eskimo history and Arctic survival funded by the Office of Naval Research. A four man party did reconnaissance in 1951 and a larger crew including Eskimo workers will excavate sites this summer. Carter recently joined Tufts College as lecturer in sociology and anthropology for 1952-53.

Funeral services for William David McKenzie retired rancher and Montanan were conducted Saturday at the Congregational church with Rev. Jack Howlett and Rev. E Brentwood Barker officiating. Burial was in Mountain View. Survivors include his widow three sons Clark Donald and Robert and seven grandchildren. Born May 2 1863 in Delhi New York he lived in Idaho and Montana before retiring to Big Timber.

A Montana Taxpayers Association analysis shows the average pupil to teacher ratio fell to 18.1 in 1950 51 from 18.3 the prior year. Forty counties saw changes, with high schools averaging 15.9 pupils per teacher and elementary 19, while Sweet Grass County reported 13.2 in elementary and 17.7 in high school.
