Harvard Lampoon to get its own college clubhouse in Cambridge
The Harvard Lampoon, oldest U S college comic paper, begins work on a handsome Cambridge building on Bow Mount Auburn and Plympton streets. Architect Edmund Marek-Wheelwright plans a Dutch renaissance style with two towers and an ibis nest tower for editors. The structure will feature kitchens banquet hall and large celebration room to host future Lampoon events.

Astor patent plans to use peat as fuel via new disintegrator
Colonel John Jacob Astor applies for a patent on a vibrator disintegrator to gasify peat fuel. He tests the device in a Rhinecliff on Hudson plant, using a 150 horsepower stone crusher driven producer and an internal combustion engine with muffler inside the gas producer.

Mauretania has maintained speeds above 25 knots on nine straight passages, with Captain Pritchard noting the liner could exceed that on full power. Judge Brown announced that the model bay city, organized in summer at Winona Lake Indiana for two years, will be set up at Pine Lake Charlevoix Michigan from July 22 to August 14. More than 1000 boys from twenty states are expected to participate in tents and run a newspaper bank grocery common council political parties and courts with elections to teach fair play civics.
