Mob seeks prisoners as Judge fails to calm crowd
A mob moving toward the Keet home chased by townspeople led Judge Farrington to the square to address them but they fled toward the Keet residence. The crowd returned empty handed while a Fairplay Missouri telephone report placed the prisoners in Stockton jail Cedar County about fifty miles from Springfield.
Foot Unearthed in Alley Near Pioneer Office
While excavating the alley adjoining The Pioneer office last Saturday, sewer contractors unearthed a Boulder resembling a human foot. It is a large rock, perfectly formed with a big toe and instep, weighing at least 800 pounds.

Two Men Drown in Stillwater River Near Columbus
At Columbus Montana on June 11 Max Husted 21 and John Kincaid 38 both of Columbus were drowned when floodwaters swept away falsework for a bridge relocation one mile south. Seven men stood on the falsework midstream five escaped by swimming to shore. the two missing men have not been recovered.
