MSC Student Dies in Fall From Natural Bridge
Ramona Aus, 21, of Cut Bank fell nearly 100 feet at the Natural Bridge Falls during a fraternity outing with Montana State College students. Despite two days of dives and aboard volunteers, her body had not been found at press time. Sheriff and divers continued the search along the treacherous canyon pools.

Rocky Band Stamp Drive Instituted
The Rocky Mountain college band launches a stamp drive to fund 80 marching uniforms. John Paulson says all national trading stamps are welcome since the college has no tax dollars. Ross Shaver Dies In California
Ross E. Shaver 80 long time editor of the Sweet Grass News died May 17 at his Oakland home after a long cancer illness. He served as editor in Big Timber from 1924 and held civic roles with Lions Club Republican committee and local clubs. Survived by wife Belle, a daughter Bernice Westlund, two sons Ralph and George C., and seven grandchildren. Services May 20 at Highlands Chapel Millbrae with interment Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.

Forced landing ends a bronc ride as saddle bronc riding is hailed as rodeo's cornerstone. Qualifying eight seconds after the chute jump, the rider didn't stay aboard. Out of Town Entries Join Big Timber Parade
The Big Timber rodeo parade on Sunday June 13 features the Al Bedoo Shrine Black Horse Patrol a Bozeman clown marching band a Lewistown VFW junior drum corps and a Lewis town American Legion drum and bugle corps announced by parade director Tope Strobel. A SGHS band will lead the procession and organizers urge floats bicycles horses and other entries with prizes to be announced later. Donations are being collected by Victor Schriver with letters to go out this week and calls to entries encouraged to ensure a full parade.
