Last Rites Held For Mervin Sell
Mervin Sell 80 died in a Billings hospital after three days there and two weeks in a Livingston area hospital. Born November 29 1883 in Brook Indiana he moved to Montana at 21 joining the Miles Implement Co. He managed Miles in Big Timber 1916 1959 with a break 1926 1930 and afterward owned a business. Survived by his widow one brother and multiple nieces and nephews funeral held at Lowry Chapel with Rev. Ben Knopp officiating.

Thirty two 4H members judged eight livestock classes at the Sid Fraser Hereford ranch on Sunday for the county 4 H Livestock Judging Day. Tim Shay won, Daryl Blumhagen was second, Frances Woodhouse and Danny Halverson tied for third and fourth, Rose Mary Dunn from Park County finished fifth. MPC Agrees to Cut Electric Rates for Montana Power
The Public Service Commission approved new Montana Power rates starting Aug 1, cutting typical residential bills by 62 cents to 6.91 for 250 kWh, an 8.2 percent reduction. Football Practice Starts Early for 1964 Season

The Montana Supreme Court issued a unanimous injunction blocking Initiative No 63 from appearing on the November 3 general election ballot. Tom Kuhn Dies of Heart Attack in Columbus
Thomas M. Kuhn 83 former Sweet Grass county commissioner died Sunday at his Columbus home of a heart attack. Funeral at St. Marys in Columbus with Mountainview interment. Kuhn served 1940 to 1946 on the county board and moved to Columbus in July 1962. He married Mae E. Wood in 1908 and came to Montana in 1909. Survived by his widow.

Boulder and Porcupine Butte 4H clubs dug 265 pounds of loco on airport hill last week earning funds for their treasury. Dr. William Cook of Montana State College chemistry seeks to identify the toxic chemical in the weed with help from the clubs. Digging required bars due to rocky ground. workers earned 25 cents per pound and reported blistered hands but good fun and club support.
