A July blast at Snake Butte quarry near Harlem Montana killed 14 year old Wade K. Confer, son of quarry superintendent O M Confer, and injured 18 others. Helena's oldest physician Dr Louis Fligman dies at 61
Dr Louis H Fligman Helena's oldest practicing physician and Montana governor of the American College of Physicians died at St Peter's hospital from complications after an appendicitis operation. Born in Roumania in 1878 he came to Minneapolis as a boy and moved to Helena in 1902 where he built a renowned internal medicine practice and pursued ongoing medical study including eight visits to Vienna for graduate work.

Former Montana Senator Duncan Dies in Virginia City
Montgomery Mitchell Duncan, attorney and former Montana state senator, died Monday night at his home in Virginia City after years of illness from pernicious anemia and heart issues. Born in Fulton Missouri, he moved to Pony Montana in 1883, later practiced law in Missouri, then Madison County. He served as county attorney, in the Montana House, and as senator in 1911 and again in 1922 1926 and 1930. He recently joined the state park board.
