Lena Gaustad Ellingson, 70, wife of Edwin H. Ellingson, died Monday at her Bear Creek Montana home from a heart attack after years of arthritis. Born January 30, 1879 near Rushford Minnesota, she lived in Montana since 1895 and left survivors including two daughters Gina Wheeler and Elsie Ellingson, grandchildren, siblings, and a son-in-law. Funeral at the Lutheran church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. E. S. Tollefson officiating.

Edward Hauge Dies After Illness at 78 in Montana
Edward K. Hauge, 78, of Montana, died Sunday night after a long illness caused by hardening of the arteries and aging. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Big Timber Lutheran Church with Rev. E. S. Tollefson officiating and music by Mrs. Ted C. Busha and Mrs. A. Ronald McDonnell. Pallbearers were Tom Lomeland, Palmer Lomeland, John Brekke, Clarence Rostad, Onie Davis, and Severin Nelson. Born in Stavanger Norway in January 1872, he settled in Minnesota with later years spent ranching in Montana and owning several ranches before purchasing his current ranch on the south side of the Boulder in 1944.

Last rites for 85 year old George Moffatt were held in Pierre after he died January 18 at his daughter Mrs J O Matthew’s home. He was born October 11 1864 in Nova Scotia and came to the United States as a young man working in paper making. He married Hattie Bowman in 1902 and lived on a Sully County farm before moving to Wyoming and then Big Timber to live with his daughter since 1946. He is survived by four grandchildren and three sisters in Nova Scotia.
