Mary Baird Bryan widow of William Jennings Bryan died at 8:30 p.m. in Hollywood California at her daughter's home. She was 69 and survived by children Ruth Owen William Jennings Bryan Jr Grace Hargraves and others. Her life with Bryan spanned his political career and she was known as “Bryan's inspiration.”

Stephen Tyng Mather former director of the National Park Service died at Carey TN hospital Brookline Massachusetts. He was born July 4 1887 in San Francisco and graduated from the University of California. He worked with the New York Suw and Pacific Coast Thorax company before serving as assistant to the secretary of the interior from 1915 to 1917 and became NPS director in 1917.

Five Crow Indians Die in Fire at Crow Reservation
Five Crow family members living in a St. Xavier cabin on the Crow reservation near Billings were burned to death in a blaze last Wednesday. The victims include Tom Gardner Agath Mountain his wife Plenty Trail Josephine Gardner Lester Gardner and Five Gardner. A lantern rupture or unknown cause started the fire around 4 a.m. Gardner managed to rescue his youngest child before perishing in the blaze.
