Hunter at Gardiner Dies of Heart Attack
Alfred M. G. Otto 65 a Three Forks rancher died of a heart attack while elk hunting on Eagle creek in Park County. He was shot at by others during legal hunting hours and died instantly after guiding a companion to cover. Otto bred Angus cattle and had hunted the Gardiner area since New Year’s Day.

Jan 6 Fort Benton student athlete Don Morris of Montana State College was killed in a snowslide while hunting near Gardiner Montana. Morris, 22, and two companions were returning to their car when the slide buried him after a long, night-marched rescue effort aided by deputies and locals. He leaves a wife, a child, and his parents in Fort Benton.

Arrangements Near Completion for X Ray Unit
Volunteers are being recruited to canvass Big Timber and neighboring areas as final steps begin to set up the mobile X ray unit next week. The project is led by Mrs. Wm. Hatfield and Mrs. Lucille Spencer, with the Big Timber Woman’s club sponsoring and state health officials coordinating with the Montana Tuberculosis Association.
