Funeral services for Stanley Lavold held in Sheridan
Stanley Lavold, 79, died Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Sheridan Wyoming. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 30 p m from Lowry Funeral Home with Rev Stephen Rohloff officiating. Pallbearers were Ralph Coseriff Frank Coseriff Lester Gilbert Bjarne Bjorndal Jim Brannin Maynard Olson. Honorary pallbearers were Toby Osen Al Mehus C E Smart Ross Williams Clive Haas and Walt Huffman. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

Sweet Grass County forms weed district and plans future control
The 1969 Montana Legislature required county weed districts. Sweet Grass County formed its district in 1969 and completed one season of weed control. Board members Telmer Terland chair, Mike Breck, Art Schump, Peter Rostad, Kermit Anderson. They publicized the law, secured equipment, hired a crew, and coordinated with agencies. Results uncertain, but program aims to reduce infestations over years and prevent spread. December meeting included Fish and Game, Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management staff to extend controls and plan new ones. An educational meeting is planned for January with Mike Jackson to share current weed control information.

The Kellogg Agency long served Hartford Insurance and has moved offices from the Masonic Building to its current location.
