Local notes list hospital stay for F F Crockett enlistee Roger Faw leaving January 6 for Fort Ord. Mrs Mervin Wertz mourns her mother Mrs J M Dickerson who died at 91 in Trenton Nebraska. Various visits, holiday travels, baptisms, and public notices follow, including driver exams January 8 and 22 at the courthouse.
Kalispell may die in this 83 year old Grace H Tintinger died Sunday. A native of Iowa she came to Fort Benton in 1883 and later lived at Judith Basin. She married Fred A Tintinger in 1896 at Big Timber and lived in Cascade county before moving to Columbia Falls in 1952. Survived by three sons and three daughters and many grandchildren. Mass was held in Helena and burial followed in a Helena cemetery.
An afternoon ceremony on Sunday November 19 at Moses Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church in Moses Lake Washington united the Keith and Stuber families. Elder Howard A Welklin officiated before an altar with two large baskets of red roses. The bride wore a satin brocade ballerina length gown with fitted bodice tip sleeves and scalloped neckline and a nylon net veil with rhinestone tiara. She carried red roses and white carnations. Miss Deana Lewellen served as maid of honor with Leora and Shirley Stuber as bridesmaids. Linda Meharry was the flower girl and J A 2/C Richard Schrock was best man with ushers A2/C Allen Lettenhorn and S/Sgt James Brown. The bride’s mother attended as guest. The couple’s parents are Mr and Mrs Albert Stuber of Big Timber Montana and Mr and Mrs C W Keith of Nova Ohio. The bride is employed at the American Mac Furnace Co Larson APS Wash.
Mrs Violet Phym Thompson 56 died at the Big Timber Rest Home from cancer. She lived in the area and worked at local establishments. Survived by daughter Louise Stevens of Livingston four sisters and five brothers and seven grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services tentatively set for Saturday at 2 p.m. from Lowry Chapel. Born March 20 1905 at Bridger Creek to Fred W Thompson and unknown mother. Married Leonard Thompson March 31 1921 in Big Timber.
The Federal Land Bank Association of Big Timber announces a 5190.60 dividend to 186 area farmers and ranchers from a 5 000 drawn in the five northwest states. Association manager Kenneth B. Todd said the payout comes from profits of a five state credit program. The FLBA serves Stillwater and Sweet Grass counties.
Funeral services for Edward E. Kunesh 72 of Ryegate were conducted at St Mathias church with Rev K J Clausen presiding. He died at Warm Springs State Hospital after four years as a patient following work on Sweet Grass county ranches. Born October 17 1889 in Prague Nebraska he married Ethel Gillette in 1915 at Roundup. Survived by sons Ernest C and Edward F Kunesh of Ryegate daughters Leona Campbell and Stella of Tacoma Washington brother Joe P Kunesh of McLeod and sisters Mrs Alice Nilsen of St Paul Minnesota and Mrs Stella Proskavee of Omaha Nebraska.

Georgetown Lake remains open Saturdays Sundays and legal holidays through winter.
The Washington Monument, begun in 1884 and completed in 1894, stands 81 120 tons tall with 898 metal steps. It has settled about six inches since initial measurements and has hosted over 32 million visitors via elevator or stairs.
Keith C. Harlan 61 died unexpectedly at Sweet Grass Community hospital Saturday after being treated for an asthmatic condition. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev. Ocee Johnson. Burial was at Mountain View. He was born August 26 1900 in Barnet Illinois and lived in Reed Point and Big Timber. Survivors include his widow a son Keith Jr a brother George and a sister Marian plus two grandsons.
The American Red Cross Blood mobile stops at Legion hall in Big Timber January 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program expands yearly with 48 new chapters and ties to the American Association of Blood Banks enabling global blood exchanges. Residents are urged to donate 55 pints to meet Sweet Grass county quota.
Z Joseph C. King and Hallie F. King of Livingston were married by Justice of Peace C. A. Bishop. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. John Lunceford of Livingston. The couple’s Christmas visit notes and local social ties frame the occasion.
