Daughter of Street Railway Man Killed
Miss Jessie Wharton and Fred Greene were killed when their enclosed roadster was struck by a passenger train at a crossing on the Northern Pacific about fifteen miles west of the city. The crash occurred at 12 15 p m while they delivered Christmas presents. A winter wind kept them from hearing the approaching train as the auto was demolished and both died within ten minutes of hospital transport. The train was moving toward Butte at thirty five miles per hour.

Forty Two Dead In Railroad Wreck Near Shepherdsville Ky
In Shepherdville Kentucky on December 20 the Louisville and Nashville passenger No. 7 struck the Bardstown Louisville and Springfield accommodation train just south of the station. Forty two persons were killed and about 39 injured. The wreck left the two wooden coaches and baggage car splintered. A relief train rushed to the scene with many injured aboard. None of the fast train’s passengers were killed. Weatherford, the station operator, warned the fast train by flagging it as he hurried from the block room to the platform.
