Legion Quintet extends win streak with two routs

The American Legion team defeated White Sulphur VFW 62 to 40 and Clyde Park 71 to 29 to stretch their unbeaten run. Al Deegan led with 25 and Herb McCauley hit 32 in the Clyde Park game, while McCauley and Deegan fueled a big fourth period. The squad hosts the College All-Stars this Friday night at 8.

Mc Leod Forms 4-H Club With Local Leaders

County Agent F B Peterson helped organize a 4 H club in Mc Leod on Tuesday. Mrs Floyd Ferguson leads with Jerry Bowman as president Donald Ferguson as vice president and Mary Ann Solland as secretary. The club lists 15 members. Spike Van Cleve named Quarter Horse Director last week for the National Quarter Horse Breeders Association. R J Rusty Bradley of Electra Texas announced the appointment.

A poetic Christmas hymn calls bells to ring across seas and lands. The verse urges love over war and hate, asking bells to spread goodwill and the holy work of dispelling gloom until selfishness ends.

Lutheran Choir Christmas Cantata at Immanuel Church

The Lutheran Church presents a Christmas Cantata on Sunday December 28 at 8 p m with a Christmas Prelude and processional. The program includes pieces like O Come All Ye Faithful Ring Forth Ye Bells O Holy Night Song of Mary Ballad of Christmas Joy to the World Silent Night and a Wise Men's Carol. Conducted by Mrs Bill Ellison with E O Overland and several soloists and ensembles.

Grade School Downs Manhattan Team

Big Timber grade school defeated Manhattan 30 to 5 in a preliminary game. Tight defense and ball handling held Manhattan to three points in the first half and two in the final period. All Local players scored in the opening quarter as they built a 13 to 3 lead and extended the margin through the game.

Local Pilot Ned Moffett Flies Solo at Nearby Airport

Ned Moffett made his first solo flight at the local airport last week. A joint Christmas program by the high and grade schools was well attended and enjoyed, with Miss Bernice Tronrud directing high school music and Miss Magda Sundeen leading grade school instruction.

Sheepherders Fall to Manhattan on Home Court

The Big Timber Sheepherders lost 24 to 37 to Manhattan on Friday. Manhattan led 4 to 2 after the first quarter and never trailed, with a halftime 12 to 9 and a 27 to 17 edge after three periods. Gordon Boyd led local scoring with 10 points in the second half.

Man Fined for Reckless Driving in Creek Bridge Crash

Miles Grosfield was fined $50 after pleading guilty to reckless driving before Justice J. D. Holly. He was in a collision with Jonas Maitland’s car at the Big Timber creek bridge Saturday night, both vehicles heavily damaged.
