Montana Supreme Court fines attorney George Niewoehner of White Sulphur Springs 250 dollars for contempt over alleged attempts to question Associate Justice Leif Erickson. Niewoehner sought to alter court minutes claiming Erickson violated the state constitution by serving on the rail adjust board in Chicago in 1941 and 1943. W H Donald Dies by Suicide on Melville Ranch
William H. Donald aged 65 or so, a well known Montana rancher born in 1880, shot himself in his den at his Melville ranch after years of illness. He left a son William H. Donald Jr. and a sister, with funeral held at Lowry's chapel and cremation in Great Falls. He served as Montana Stock Growers secretary and was Montana Livestock Commission president.

Gordon F Amery born December 9 1923 in Big Timber died October 25 in Leyte of wounds received in action. He attended Sweet Grass high school and Montana State college before joining the Army in 1943. He served in the 96th infantry, landed at Leyte October 19 and was wounded October 24 before passing.

West Boulder Boy Killed in Action

Montana educators propose high school budget bill at state session
At a Helena meeting the Montana Educators association and School Boards group approved bills to be submitted to the twenty ninth legislative session. The proposed measures include raising per student budget maximums and removing county levy limits to let budgets be controlled by the state approved figures.
