Montana sheepmen expect January 1, 1906 totals to be hundreds of thousands lower than September 1. Large lamb sales and feeder activity from Colorado to the Yellowstone valley drive reductions, with shipments out of Cascade, Chouteau, Teton and Valley counties. Major buyers like Rey Bros of St Paul and firms such as J B Long & Co and W A Clark have paid about 1 million dollars to Montana sheepmen in six months.
Nickel Plate offers excursion fares from Chicago to Buffalo on specified dates in late December 1905 and early January 1906.
