Race Meet To Be Held Here Labor Day

Shelhamer shifts the match race with Dutch S and Danger Boy C to this evening at 6 30 due to jockey unavailability on Labor Day. Shelhamer’s horse previously beat Madill’s in a close race. Boes Return From Norway After Three Month Visit

Mr and Mrs John Boe arrived Sunday morning from a three month stay in Norway. They left New York June 1 on the Oslofjord and reached Bergen June 8. They spoke of changes in Norway and noted clean homes and living well though sugar and certain foods were scarce.

The West team featuring City Club DeMolay Scou s and All Stars edged JayCees Cities Service 15 to 14 in a hard fought Sunday finale at the high school field. Grandson Dies of Wounds in Korea

Mrs. M. E. Dixon mourns the death of her grandson, Lt. Ralph W. Queen, who died from wounds received in Korea. He served with the Thirty-fifth regimental combat team of the Thirty-fifth division, saw action in the Chinju Mason sector, and previously served two years in the navy. He attended OCS at Fort Benning in 1949 and had been in Japan since April 1949. He is survived by his sister Judith of Washington, D. C.

Reed Point Rites for John D. Stritch

John D. Stritch 82 died Sunday at the Christensen home from infirmities of old age and a cerebral hemorrhage. He had lived with a sister until 1948 and later with a niece before entering Christensen home. Funeral services were held at Reed Point EUB church with Rev. C. R. Ziettlow and burial followed in Reed Point cemetery. He was born August 25, 1868 in Richmond Minnesota and worked as a Northern Pacific lineman 1902 1915. Survivors include a nephew Hollis Stritch of Missoula and a sister Mary Stritch who died in a fire.

Cities Service Wins Softball Crown in Local League

Croon Hereim Wedding Held in Twodot

Miss Doris Croon daughter of Mr and Mrs Nels Nelson of Minneapolis and Clarence Hereim son of Mr and Mrs Ben Hereim of Twodot were married Sunday at the Hereim home in Twodot with Rev Ray Mathsen officiating. Attendants were Betty Ann and Benny Hereim. The bride wore a brown suit with a white rose corsage. A reception followed for about 25 guests. The couple will reside in Harlowton where Mrs Hereim works at Al and Stella's Coffee Shop and Mr Hereim at the John Duncan ranch.

Swim Meet to Be Held Sunday at City Park

The final day of playground activities, led by Recreation Director Roy Snyder, will feature a Sunday swim meet at the city park at 2 pm. Lions club prizes will cover events for boys and girls including walking races, 30-yard free style, doggie paddle, underwater, diving, and comedy acts. Red Cross beginner swimming cards will be awarded to children who complete the required skills.

youths admit to throwing rocks at cars near Reed Point

Two 16 year old Reed Point youths confessed after being taken into custody by Milo Collins and Sheriff Walter Osborne. They said anger over hitchhiking failed near Reed Point around 9 30 Friday night led to rock throwing that shattered a windshield and damaged a car top. They were turned over to authorities after questioning.
