Five Chinese Officers Executed for Corruption
At Chungking on August 30 five officers of the Chinese Fourth Army were ordered shot last Sunday by General Hsueh Yueh for corruption and profiteering during the Changsha evacuation. They allegedly used military transport to move contraband civilian goods as the city fell to Japan. The executions followed two days after General Chang Teh Neng was executed for negligence in the loss of Changsha.

Tunnel Worker Killed In NP Tunnel Accident
Raymond Page, 52, Bozeman resident, was fatally struck by a loaded truck at the east portal of the Northern Pacific tunnel under construction, 12 miles west of Livingston.
