Cattlemen Press Longer Rest Period in Rail Transit
Secretary of Agriculture Wilson met about 100 cattlemen at the stock yards exchange to seek changes in the 24 hour rest and feeding rule. They urged 36 hours to reduce distress. Wilson cannot change the law but will modify the current order limiting carload numbers for en route feeding. Railroads argue 36 hour unloads suffice and a joint committee will press the issue.

Report of Commissioners on McLeod Street Damage
At a special Big Timber town council meeting commissioners appointed by Mayor Asbury to appraise Clark Bros. property damage on McLeod Street were confirmed. The panel found damages of 80.00, but the value increase from the street grade change exceeded damages, leaving the Clarks with nothing. A duplicate notice served on attorney John E. Barbour sought dissolution of a restraining order.

Samuel Murray Dies After Cancer Battle at 63
Samuel Murray, 63, native of Ohio and long time resident, died Tuesday after battling stomach cancer. A stone mason by trade and longtime sawmill operator on White Beaver, he leaves a wife and five children Bert and Frank Murray Mrs H Clouse Myrtle Murray of this city and James Murray of Minneapolis. Funeral services were held yesterday at the Clouse residence and M B church with Rev J F Dunlop officiating. He was a Civil War veteran and respected local citizen.
