Brewery at Red Lodge Starts Operation Monday
Montana's first post prohibition style whisky plant began operation at Yellowstone Distilleries Inc in Red Lodge on Monday. Carloads of malt barley corn and rye were received as Grain suppliers Carbon County and Montana growers prepare to supply the facility. The first whisky run is scheduled for Thursday with finished product expected in about 60 days.

Brisk bidding and strong prices marked the twentieth annual national ram sale in Salt Lake City. A stud Bouillet ram sold for 1278 dollars, besting last year’s 700 and near 1930’s 1300, while the all time high was 6200 in 1918. Forty eight Bouillet rams averaged 14.27 dollars and more than 1000 people attended the stockyards event. Joe King of Laramie bought the day’s first ram for 215 dollars and William Pauley of Deer Lodge bought the third ram.

Girl Fatally Injured in Bozeman Hill Accident
Neva Lois Jordahl 14, daughter of Oscar and Mrs. Jordahl of 27 Jefferson St, died at 4 45 p m Tuesday after being brought from Bozeman where she suffered a left leg fracture and gangrene. The four victims were in a sedan when it overturned after hitting a soft shoulder following an oil truck pass. Her mother was not seriously hurt. brother Orland 16 had slight head injuries and Oscar J injured badly. The group were en route to Colfax Washington on vacation. All were treated in Bozeman hospitals before returning home.
