Regatta Planned At Glasston Lake
The Big Timber Rod and Gun club plans a Glasston lake regatta on Sunday August 21 with jousting canoe contests relay skiing events backwards obstacle races and boat time trials. A clown will perform and free boat rides follow the show starting at 1 p m. Proceeds fund the Glasston lake access road and recreation area improvements. Highway officials announce four mile interstate segment near Springdale Cut now surfaced with bituminous material. The project required a million dollar work order to safely route around rocks three miles west of Springdale. LaLonde Construction of Sidney won the contract for 2.607 million dollars with about 1.8 million cubic yards of dirt moved.

Rev. Axel Anderson Dies in Auto Crash in Richardson
Reverend Axel Anderson, en route with his family to the Melville church anniversary, was killed when his car skidded on wet pavement and overturned near Richardson. Mrs. Anderson and son Bruce were injured. the family is staying with H. A. Andersons. Survivors include widow Francis Carey and two daughters Mary and Ruth. Funeral services set for Wayzata and Colfax churches.
