Synchronograph promises 3000 words per minute telegraph
At a New York meeting of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers Dr A C Crehore and Lieut George O Squier described a synchronograph that transmits by alternating current and could send 3000 words per minute. The system allows mass newspaper transmission nationwide and duplex operation doubling capacity. Dr Frederick Riddell of Cornell noted no magnets are used, and the setup relies on a Moore alphabet perforated paper tape fed by a dynamo powered motor.
