Carl Celebrates 90th Birthday in Columbus
W A Carl marked his 90th birthday on a hospital bed Monday but said it was among his happiest. Family and hospital staff joined in, with a 90 candle cake baked by Mrs Henry Eddy of Stillwater hospital. Born April 12 1848 in Tioga County Pennsylvania he later lived in Iowa Missouri and Montana. He served as Barton County sheriff and became Sweet Grass County commissioner at 68 before moving to Stillwater County in 1929 with the Columbus Apartments.

John Schiltz well known Gibson rancher died Sunday after a bowel operation at the local hospital. He was run down January 16 by an auto driven by R S Weller and had recently returned home on crutches. Funeral at the Catholic church and interment at Mountain View.
