Increased Bounties Placed On Predators
At a meeting of the county wool growers predatory animals control committee the plan was set for bounty payments. Coyote pups $3 females and cats $10 and males $5 for April through June. County Agent H. M. Oefstos led the discussion with Carl Myrstol W. N. Clayton and John G. Johnson present. The action aims to reduce females and pups during the pupping season while state bounty remains $2 for pups and adults. County records show 484 coyotes and bobcats were claimed by 134 hunters in November through March, compared with 531 predators claimed by 108 hunters last year. Carcasses must be presented to obtain the bounty, with pups and coyotes recommended for county bounty before sheriffs office submission.

OPA Suspends Price Ceilings on Hundreds of Items
Washington April 8 The Office of Price Administration ordered immediate suspension of price ceilings on several hundred personal household and professional items. The second order removed controls on many heavy industrial machinery earlier, deeming the items of minor importance to living costs or business.
