Four SGHS Students to Attend High School Week in Bozeman

Two Wanted Men Arrested Here

Ed Thompson Catches Thieves After Night Chase
Ed Thompson and his wife awoke to a Jeep starting and he fired a warning shot to stop two suspects. The pair fled on foot after a brief chase, were arrested at Ed and Sherrill's home, and handed to Sheriff Harold Shepard. The youths, a 16 year old from Columbia Illinois and an 18 year old from Joplin Missouri, were from the Anaconda Civilian Conservation Center and had stolen a car in Big Timber.

Regional Spelling Bee winners advance to state meet in Butte
Lynda Grande of Lennep won the regional spelling contest held in Livingston with Marcia Berg of Big Timber second and Kathy Clay of White Sulphur Springs third. They will compete in the state event in Butte on April 24. Fifty four 4-H members demonstrated at a county event, earning awards with Steady Workers Club leading with 14 of 16 members demonstrating. The Lions Easter Egg Hunt is set for April 11 with multiple age groups across City Park locations. Sweet Grass County will receive 4527.46 for the first of two transportation reimbursements for area schools.
