Arneson and Alexander Win Timber Grade School Seats
Voters elected Dr John Alexander and incumbent Marlis Arneson as school trustees in a single contest. Arneson led with 352 votes, Alexander had 233, followed by Conrad Fredricks 130 and James Tulley 99. Arneson and Alexander will serve three year terms. District backed a 178 mill special levy 263 yes to 181 no.

Rural school levies pass. trustees elected in several districts
Voters in Melville approved the district special levy 53 to 4 with Tom Anderson elected trustee 56 votes and Diane Anderson one write in. Bridge district voters backed the levy 24 to 1 with Dale Schott elected to a three year term. McLeod saw no levy vote and Windsor Wilson reelected to incumbe ncy amid one write in for John Titee. Grey Cliff residents approved 24 to 6 as Telmer Terland was reelected to the board.

Musicians do well at district event
Sweet Grass County High School musicians earned nine superior ratings and two Excellent ratings at the District 49 Music Festival in Billings. Ken Willson topped with three superior ratings in vocal, instrumental, and piano. Solos and ensembles earning superior ratings advance to the State Music Festival April 30 May 1 at Eastern Montana College in Billings.

Nominal fees eyed for Big Timber summer recreation program
