Smith Will Contested In Probate Hearing In Kemmerer

A. W. Smith's Wyoming will faces challenge as his widow is ruled mentally incompetent by a Kemp merer jury. Norris W. Griggs becomes her guardian as attorneys from Ogden and Kemmerer represent the case following a hearing at which the state institution in Evanston was ordered for the widow.

Beef cattle receipts steady with lower feeder demand

Five Year Old Alma Cantlin Dies of Appendicitis

Alma Cantlin, five, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Cantlin of Pinedale, died September 3 at a Rock Springs hospital after an appendix operation proved impossible due to her weak condition. The funeral was held in Pinedale last Saturday as the Green River valley community offered sympathy to the bereaved family.

More Girls Than Boys In Public School Attendance

Land Leases for Drilling Purposes Near Town

This week reports say Jas Mickelson F A Fear and C P Budd leased land to Salt Lake parties for drilling. Harold Munn of Halfway won the contract to bring up a drilling rig at once. They plan one well to 3000 feet unless oil is found sooner, with three more wells to follow if successful. The land lies west of town and a good showing is hoped.

Big Piney opens new school term with full staff

The Big Piney school opened on Monday with a full teaching corps, promising a more rigid training. Enrollment to yesterday shows Primary room 14 under Miss Thomas, Intermediate 15 with Miss Bowden, Grammar 8 with Miss Solon, High School 11 with Miss Leopold as principal, with more students expected to enter in coming weeks.
