Los Angeles Stock Yards Forecast Shapes Cattle Market
The U S Department forecasts show U S cattle population may rise by about one million by January 1 with western range feed conditions decisive. Slaughter is expected 4 5 percent below 1939 as cows are kept for breeding and cattlemen look to replace with registered bulls. Weaner calves rise in California and stocker feeder cattle demand is seen from outside the state.
