The town learns Richard Key has purchased an interest in the Daniel store of Jones, Son & Company. He will move to Daniel after returning from Salt Lake City, leaving this week’s issue with limited details.
Voters in the incorporated town must register this week to be eligible for the upcoming election. The Big Piney Mercantile store serves as the polling place with L. D. Tanner and Mrs. Jesse Budd handling registers.
At Big Piney a three day rodeo crowned Charley Mills first in finals with Charly Hiles second and Shafer third. Che'e Nig outlaw ridden by Mickelson showed promise for Cheyenne next year while Gray Sliver owned by Amos Smith placed second. Billy Sherman won steer roping with Guy Test second. The event drew enthusiasts and featured dramatic exhibitions by Shafer and Dishpao Nig.
Gull Whithren returns toward Kemmerer on West venday with O Riele showing a Buick fifty five. Miss Charlotte Jenkins heads home to Fontenelle after visiting Mrs Frank Chapel. Rev James Svattae arrives as the new Episcopal rector in Big Piney. Carrie Blickfeldt leaves Piney for Kemmerer for the winter amid fond goodbyes.
Bascom Skaggs paroled convict escapes handcuffed while being returned from Kemmerer to Rawlins for imprisonment. Guard W P Mis pursued after Skaggs bolted near the Wallace house. Officials report no trace yet. Skaggs may have help in Rawlins.
A large Kemmerer gathering featured speeches by John B. Kendrick and Frank L. Haus among others. Torch parade precedes the event as candidates pledged to serve the public, outline office records, and criticize administration while promoting reform and county development.
