The Green River Valley reports no mail delivery since Friday November 7 due to alleged impassable roads. Local mail contractor excuses are disputed as trucks and touring cars have operated to Opal. The notice notes mail should arrive tomorrow and encourages readers to blame the contractor if newspapers arrive late. Friday November 14 mail arrived.
The High school and friends staged a surprise for Dr. and Mrs. Hook on Tuesday to recall the November 11 1918 victory. They met at the Emporium then moved to the Happy Hour hall where jazz and dancing entertained guests. Mrs Hook gave each lady bells and horns ending a memorable evening.
Mrs. Clifton Fear entertained Big Piney High School pupils and teachers last Saturday afternoon in honor of Miss Ruth O'Neil and Miss Mabel Shideler. The belated Hallowe'en event featured ghostly greeting, games, fortunes from a cauldron, a luncheon, and a reading by Miss Jewel.
Advertises dressed sucking pigs at 30 cents per pound for Thanksgiving dinner with limited supply and urging early orders from H C Dunham.
Notice to teachers. The next Teachers Examination will be held November 20 to 22. Teachers who expect to take the exam must notify the office. Schedule lists topics by session across Thursday to Saturday and notes two question sets for city and rural teachers. Myra E. Geer, County Superintendent.

Reports from the Green River valley indicate elk are moving down from high elevations due to heavy snow at least six feet deep in places. Stockmen say winter is severe with cattle being fed thirty days earlier than in past years and feed scarce after a short previous crop. Piney shows only inches of snow and subzero temperatures.
James Smith a Burney and Co. truck driver fractured his right arm while cranking a machine at Opal last week. He boarded a train to Kemmerer where doctors set the injury before he returned to Piney where it is mending. W. E. Enos of Daniel was seen en route home.

The PIONEER reports on Christmas supplies and family travels. Charles Rumsch travels to Kemmerer to join Mrs. Rumsch and visiting children in Cheyenne. Travis Whitman heads to Rochester Minnesota for hernia surgery. Everett Curtis injures a hand at Dry Piney oil field. John H Wardell welcomes a baby boy and jokes about gender surprises.
