President John Budd leads committees to stage a two day rodeo at Big Piney and Marbleton on June 20 and 21. Highlights include a livestock exhibit, a world class trick rider and roper, dangerous feats such as bulldogging a steer from a car, various races and bucking horses, and $3000 in cash prizes. R. V. Newcomb resident engineer for the Wyoming State Highway Department arrived in Piney last week and started a crew to rebuild approaches of the new cement bridges south of town. Rider Kicked by Wild Horse Breaks Arm Near Wrist
Al. Osterhout was kicked on the left arm by a wild horse on Tuesday. The fracture is just above the wrist and was set by Dr. Hook. He is expected to mend in good shape.

Piney Raises Full Victory Loan Quota in Final Push
Piney exceeded the Victory Loan target of 31 250 dollars finishing the campaign last Saturday night. The town has met all five liberty loan quotas in past drives and takes pride in its continued support. Officials say the Victory Loan may be the last large war bond issue, with future funding to come from other taxes.

Visit oil field party praises crude oil from Lincoln-Idaho well
Al Payne and Big Henry of Opal with Lyon Rathbun of Fontenelle visited the oil fields on Tuesday and went to Dry Piney where they saw high grade crude oil pumped from the Lincoln-Idaho well. They praised the product and planned a fishing trip in the upper country today.

Forest Supervisor Beam visits Piney on official business
Forest Supervisor Charles A. Beam arrived in Piney last Thursday from Afton on official business and departed Monday morning. He is regaining his health after a serious illness last fall from a blood poisoning following vaccination and the possibility of amputation was considered to save his life.
