Saturday East Day Victory Liberty Loan drive urges timely bond purchases. Big Piney residents pledge steadfast support, with Chairman Thog O'Neil rallying the community to meet the loan target before the last Saturday deadline.
Last Thursday morning a home wedding united Bryan Ball and Emma Ball at the Ball residence near Daniel. Rev. Father Lynch officiated. A breakfast followed for relatives and close friends, then a dance with over two hundred guests. The couple will reside on the groom’s ranch near Daniel. Congratulations were extended and gifts were numerous and costly.
Last Sunday in Pinedale Elizabeth Cooper aged five was run over by a truck while playing in the street. She died within minutes from lung hemorrhage. A younger child was injured lightly. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Congregational church conducted by Rev. D D Reese.
At Budd Hall the annual school election re elected Al Osterhout for a three year term as school trustee. Voters also set terms for Big Piney Markston Gilbert Hayden North Piney and Ri er schools with eight to nine months durations. Meeting adjourned after no other business.

William McGinnis born in Kentucky in 1846 died April 28 1919 at Saint Marks Hospital Salt Lake City at 73. He moved from Park City mines to Wyoming joining the Green River Valley settlement about 1885. He married Mary Moore in 1876 and had eight children four daughters and three sons survived with a widow. The funeral was held at Hall Undertaking Chapel Salt Lake with interment at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
The family has the sympathy of the community in their loss of husband and father, noting the support shared during this difficult time.
Last Friday afternoon a fire alarm spread through town at the (67) ranch owned by the late A W Smith estate. Firemen prevented spread despite a high wind. origin unknown. Also notes next month June 2021 rodeo preparations and the funeral of Dr W A Hocker in Evanston.
A mass meeting of Big Piney residents will be held in the town hall on Saturday evening May 10 1919 at 8 o clock to nominate a mayor and four councilmen for the coming year. Town clerk L D Tanner is noted.
Regular meeting of the Big Piney town council on May 6 1919 with present mayor L D Tanner and councilmen Budd Chapel Yose and absent Jensen. Minutes approved and bills allowed including salaries for mayor city attorney and councilmen pest house supplies and clerk wages. Meeting adjourned.
